Bigfoot Trail

Summer 2025

Summer 2025 has been all about the Trinity Alps. What a treasure. Chris and I agree that the Trinity Alps make the rest of the world look like a toilet. I have a personal history of enjoying the Trinity Alps. This summer also did not disappoint.

Trail Work

The work project that I joined focused on the McNeil Trail. It is a would be access trail to the Bigfoot and Packer’s Peak. The area is severely affected by fire, particularly the River Complex fires of 2021.

Loren, “Big D”, and I hiked Section 2 of the Bigfoot Trail. It was challenging.

Summer 2024

I don’t believe in Bigfoot and I do not want to believe. The idea of Bigfoot is too terrifying for me. I am as traumatized by the video footage that I saw on TV as a child as everyone else my age.

That said, this summer, I had the incredible opportunity to first work on and then backpack through the first section of the Bigfoot Trail.

The highlight of Summer 2024 did not disappoint!

Trail Work

Owen and I traveled into the Yolla Bolly Mountains to work with an incredible team sponsored by the Bigfoot Trail Alliance to volunteer as a trail crew and improve trail within the wilderness.
